Had a jet fly over my house earlier today, didn't have my scanner on though.

Will be scanning tonight since there's a race tonight and tomorrow, as well as next week.

I was in Lancaster today for the Palmetto Thunder airshow. They had a F/A 18 Hornet Demo around 3:25, not sure where your QTH is. The Hornet was cleared direct CLT after the demo.

Also, just got buzzed by flight of 3 jets on Lake Norman. Didn't have the scanner handy but I'm sure it was the flight that did the flyby at Lowes. Looked like F16s maybe.

STONE 31 (AV-8's) working over Piney Island/BT-11 doing laser guided munitions practice on the barge and SAM sites....then giving a newbie on his wing his first taste of NVG experience....getting experience with all light levels from ground objects....after that, a really cool flight tour of the down east area using the NVG's, narrated by the instructor in the lead AV-8....marking cars driving on the beach on Core Banks/Cape Lookout...he notes that the moonlight reflection on the water is too bright for the NVG's....can tell different heights of vegetation on a perfect night like tonight....looking at all the sites in Beaufort and then Oriential/Bayboro in the 'dark' before RTB Cherry Point... Runway 23 with the lights down on the field.

...always neat listening...

Yep, I saw the three jets fly over my house for the race. They didn't show them on tv so I figured there wasn't going to be one so I went outside to finish cooking on the grill, and over they went... :-(

Sigh... oh well, there's always next week.

Had same from up here. I had DRAGNET coordinating them on 301.025 but never did here the MIGS. I figured DRAGNET must have been between me and them and the MIGS were well south. (WAG). I did hear DRAGNET reference that MIG 02 was dead. I never did here DRAGNET mention MIG 03 at all. Was probably just calling off intercept instructions to MIG 01 and just did not reference there being a MIG 02.

Got buzzed twice today on Lake Norman by a flight of 4 f-15s. I'm sure they were here for the pre-race fly-by at Lowes. Of course I didn't have the radios near by. Did anyone snag the A/G comms for the fly-by. I assume the same freq will be used tomorrow night. They usually have a pretty cool series of fly-bys before the 600.

Twice? Man, they must have had to circle around again to get the timing right.

Didn't hear a thing... I had just about every VHF freq programmed from Atlanta Center into the scanner as well... not even a blip... they flew over my house again. I'll probably get a picture tomorrow to show you how close I am to the track. (and hopefully find the frequency they're transmitting on)

I hope they have the stealth bomber again, that thing is site to see fly-by!

Alright, I got something. 307.8000 "Flying 5 thousand, requesting 3 thousand for Nascar"

EDIT: Can't understand the callsign, but he just requested to change the holding pattern to 15 miles Northwest of the speedway.

IRON71 is the callsign, they just flew over. It was actually a total of five, but only four did the actual flyover. They re-joined after making a left turn and ascending to five-thousand. They're heading back to Raleigh now.

There were two flights of cargo planes (C-130s?) into Douglas today. The first one was around 330PM, the 2nd was about 10 minutes ago (940PM). My scanner got reset and I hadn't got around to putting the milAIR frequencies back in yet. Did anyone hear any of the action?

Undisclosed urban location.
Had a couple of Apaches fly over the house today.
Nitro, with the 130's and the flight of Apaches today it may be something leftover from G.W.'s visit at Furman last week.
I doubt it but it's possible.
They have to move a lot of equipment for a Presidential visit.
