Read the NCSHP thread already, so let that rest.

Who all has any other PW or IG low band hits of the 589 ACTIVE fcc licenses for NC, in the western NC areas?
I see a lot of Duke Power, what else has been somewhat active there?

(Western being anything west of hwy 221)

Hey Evan's. NC DOT (Dept of Transportation) might yield some hits. As you've already gathered, NC public safety is almost nil.
From the DOT side, and depending upon how far east you will be (I-77), Divisions 9-14 would be ones to look for, as well as the truck to truck freq.

Alot of the DPS Probation Officers still have low band whips on their vehicles. Do they use it? No clue. Never heard them there.

Just to say, Probation is totally on VIPER to allow contact with local LEO. Prisoner Transport vehicles are still using low band for the time being.

Depends on the location. In the Buncombe area they use Asheville's P25 system. They even have their own channel on there. They sometimes use VIPER, but probably 95% of their communications are on Asheville P25.

I hear traffic on this one during bad weather:
Division 14
Division 14 includes Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Polk, Swain and Transylvania counties. Division 14 shares the same frequencies as Division 7
