Doe's NCC Fireboard have zones (North, South, East, West) or something similar as to what companies use what TAC channels? I just started working in Wilmington and I wan't to program a bank in my scanner for my commute down 495.

New Castle County Board dispatches on N-DISP. Response for all stations is on N-TAC3. If a major incident ties up the channel they will migrate to N- TAC 4. N-TAC6 is used for operations with Cecil County. All departments have their own company channel on the TRS. 453.05 and 453.30 UHF repeat most all Transmissions. There are also VHF/UHF repeaters frequencies from various departments that repeat the TRS

Ok I understand how there system works, I usually listen to the county UHF Dispatch and simulcast freqs from home in PA so I'm not real failiar how the fire talgroups are used.

I see they got N-DISP and then TAC3 to TAC8 any idea what TAC1 or 2 is. I'm gonna guess maybe the statwide fire talkgroup, Private talkgroups?

Since you seem to have some answers to the fireboard stuff, how does emsops1 (aka ops 1) fall into the usage?
Thanks, Ryan

The designation TAC-1 and TAC-2 are non-existent in the fire radios. Satewide groups are displayed as such. Company channels are likewise displayed. EMSOP 1 is the operating channel for paramedics and ambulances on medical emergencies. EMSOPS 2 and 3 are overflow channels. On a MVC run(motor vehicle collision), medics and ambulance will switch to TAC 3.

Yeah I kind of figured there was no Tac 1 or 2, just was curious if there was something in place since they started at TAC3. Maybe two conventional channels or maybe N-Disp and Statewide talkgroups etc., like I said not a big deal just was curious why it starts at TAC3.
