Hi, there is no 8th precinct in NYC, if that is what you are referring to.

Nassau County is my guess is what he is looking for.

No sir I am refering to Nassau county Police 8th & 2nd pcts the regular frequency 477.3875 is not working I know there's an altrnate freq but I don't know what it is

Nassau has neen running a p25 digital system with encryption capabilities and has also been simulcasting over the uhf channels. At some point, others predict the simulcast will be turned off for good.

Thats what I was afraid of guess its time to upgrade to a digital scanner finally

It won't help you any. They are ENCRYPTED on the new system.

I think that maintance on the UHF system has fallen off some what. Case in point: UHF Highway/ESU. The signal has gone to sh-t. Nassau is broke so all funds for radios go to the new system (500Mhz]

NCPD 2/8 PCT 477.3875 PL 179.9 is back up working as of yesterday but has been down for i guess maint work, the other freq your looking for is 478.5125 pl 179.9 thats there farmingdale area transmitter witch is always live
