Are you sure about your info? Astro system? Who told you that? I'm thinking maybe you heard it from a patrol officer? Here's what we know. The SNACC system adopted some Pahrump users. They are listed in the rrdb here Clark County - Southern Nevada Area Communications Council (SNACC) Trunking System, Clark County, Nevada - Scanner Frequencies at the bottom of the page. Any scanner that can trunk a Motorola type 2 system rebanded can track it. Try to find out more from the source about "ASTRO". Maybe using digital p25 on the SNACC? Perhaps someone local can confirm this?

I was hearing the NCSD on SNACC analog but am no longer. There was an article in the PV Times that the SD went digital. I have heard the dispatcher respond to the occasional officer on SNACC telling them to use ""Astro". Still hearing PV fire on SNACC.

I have a GRECOM PSR-500. I am not sure I am actually manually programing it correctly. I would like to learn how to do it myself. I may have to go the software route. any suggestions ?

Win500 works great. Has a 30 day free trial. IMHO it's worth the money.

Ok so make sure you have the snacc and the snacc p25 progamed into your scanner. Make sure your trunking tables are mot type 2 rebanded for snacc and p25 auto for snacc p25. Then set a wildcard for each system and try to catch tgids for your L/E S/O guys.

I say this with 100% confidence.
I'm listening to NCSO on my new Uniden BCD396XT portable scanner.
Also using a Uniden BCD996XT with the same good results.
Both are automatically switching between analog and P25 (yes,... display reads P25)
as the calls go out to either NCSO, Fire or MercyAir.
Scanning the Pahrump site for 800 mhz SNACC and it's trunk tracking perfectly.
I used RR's database and imported it into my scanner using FreeScan.
Turn off all the sites that aren't Pahrump and presto... Fast scanning.

Don't even bother with the VHF as the noise floor is so high
in this valley that it is itself, a possible RF radiation hazard. :)

Any questions, feel free to ask.

You are most welcome,

-p

Glad to be of service!

As it turns out I'm helping several locals to get set up so,
It's all good.
