All frequencies are staying the same but will now be mixed mode. As soon and a majority of the agencies that use State Radio in that area have their digital programing done, the tower will switch over.

I know that LaMoure and Dickey County operating off of Merricourt have been operating in Digital since the 2nd week of May.

how long untill the whole state goes encrypted any thoughts??

327SKIDOO that will be NEVER it would cost way too much $$$ and Becuase they would have to buy Encryted Chips for Police, Fire, EMS, ALL Schools buses,DOT, Civil Air Patrol, National Guard. I have talked to the State radio and it is not even in there thoughts. I dont even think the state would spend Muilt Millions on chips since the state rep. shot state radio down for NEW tower they wanted.

I live in Dickinson and I have my radio set to accept both analog and digital but it seems like everybodys using the digital, analog must be just in case huh ? Also 327skidoo I really hope they dont go encrypted my dream is to be a cop and I love my scanner brings entertainment to the house on those boring nights !

yep digital seems to be the most common thing i hear i also think our state radio is very interesting and unique i travel alot it seems interesting how good it actually works being it only works on one or two frequencies 154.695 and 154.935(which i hardly ever hear any traffic on) where as i travel trough wyoming they have a statewide trunking system with much less population just food for thought
