NDF to make the switch in June

Talked to a good friend of mine who is also the VFD Training Capt for Galena VFD. He told that NDF should be making the switch over to the Washoe County 800 System in June. The new Rescue-81 that galena vfd has a VHF-hi and a 800EDACS radio. So it looks like its still on for the switch. They will be keeping the VHF-hi radios.

I recently noticed that NDF has been added to the talkgroup list for the Washoe EDACS system. How is this going to work? Will they sill be simulcasting on their VHF frequencies, or will they be using VHF that will be simulcast on the 800 system? For all of us VFD guys that have to go over there and fight fire every once in a while, it would be nice not to have to use an 800 radio when the whole rest of the state is on the VHF system. Anyone have any intel on how this is supposed to work now?
