I see references to the NDOT and FCC databases in various messages. How does one find info from the FCC database regarding various systems such as the Nevada's Department of Transportation approved frequencies?

I've been to the FCC Web site, but not sure how to navigate to the data area requested :?: above.

Thanks!

NORCAL,

The FCC's frequency search can get anyone lost in a very short period of time. :) Have you tried looking in the RRDB first?

There are two ways to search for frequencies. I personally perfer the older version because it presents the returned search data in a way that is easy to copy'n'paste and it is also easy on the eyes.

You can find it here.

You will need to either search on the frequency or the name the state used on license. Sometimes it could be 'State of XYZ' or it could be 'XYZ, State of'.

I would suggest that you first use the "State/County" option to get some ideal of the names that could be in use and then branch out from there.

Crayon is correct in regards to searching FCC data Bases.
One thing to remember is that the FCC data bases are notoriously incorrect.
In the Reno area the system is so botched up that a master detective would find it difficult to figure out.
All of the postings that I have submitted to RR data base were correct as of the date submitted. It would only appear that Reno area is botched up.
It would appear that Frequencies assigned to Washoe EDACS are also assigned to NDOT, and this would be a no-no as far as frequency assignment is concerned.
The other problem is that it would seem that some sort of investigation will be comencing in reguards to the numerous crashes the system has had recently. Could have something to do with the combining of Washoe with NDOT systems.
If one looks at the FCC data base it would seem that there are frequencies working at locations where they are not licenced to do so.
I personally went to the sites and varified and now they are working on 2 separate systems.
As soon as I figure out this mess I will post the results.
I'm still so confused!!!!!! Only in Nevada!!!!!!!

As far as the Washoe County EDACS system it was designed to (and does) interface with the Nevada state EDACS system eventually under the Nevada Communications Interoperability Plan they will interface on 800 mhz with FEDS, Calif div Forestry, and the state wide EDACS as well as interface with rual 150 mhz - that is the plan anyway - I would not even attempt to guess how well the thing might or might work
