NE San Antonio Shut Down

Truck turned over at I35 and 410 interchange. The truck is loaded with shaped charges, Explosives. Interstate 35 closed in both directions and will be closed all day.

Everyone evacuated in a one and a half mile radius. Red cross has opened shelters.

Traffic at complete halt and confustion reins. Many vehicles are cutting through little town of Windcrest that has a 20 MPH speed limit and they have radar out filling the city coffers.

Windrest PD is on 453.775, chasing off the media and as Gill said, filling the coffers.

On the EDACS system:

SA Fire has a patch setup with Patch ID 513 that patches SA Fire 1-D and SA EMS 1-D together. Some of the dispatch consoles have transmitted in analog on this patch ID.

There is an SAPD Console working Bexar County SO deputies for traffic relief on Interagency 7B PD-2 - all in analog mode. It looks like all officers in the area (SAPD and Bexar County) who are working traffic posts are switching to this talkgroup.

Gill, you can probably get all this on the topperwien tower up in NB.

I didn't have any of San Antonio system programed in a scanner, so I put the Topperwin site in. I was surprised at the poor audio quality. If I was managing this sytem I would be all over macom to bring this up to an acceptable level.

What were you monitoring?

Personally, I think the system has been working pretty darn well....

the dispatcher always came in with some scratchy noise. One particular officer was always clear as a bell. A couple of others were acceptable. But most of the transmissions were really noisy and with the exception of the one officer the audio was low.
