When putting in these freq's for Nebraska Highway Patrol on the win96 should they be AM or FM on the RX mode?

42.34(base)/42.18(Mobile)
42.46(base)/42.30(Mobile)
42.48(base)/42.28(Mobile)

42.04 is used as talkaround/air to ground

465.525 is their mobile repeater

You also need a good antenna to pick up those Low Band signals. The rubber duck that comes with the PRO-96 is almost worthless for picking up low band useless you are right in the path. Plan on using a good outside antenna to hear much of anything.

that couldnt be more true, i purchased a $100 antenna specifically for listening to the nebraska state patrol, and still, i cant hear everything, i can hear all the dispatch channels but to hear an actual unit you need to be within about 5-10 miles of that unit (thats with the low band antenna)

you will NOT hear anything with a regular handheld scanner antenna
