I noticed on the latest updates to the Norman system, a TG labled "NEC" has been added. What does this stand for and what does that group/agency do? Thanks!

NE2C

Dustin I heard that traffic the other day on Norman's radio system. A "unit 321 was calling another unit on NE2C" I believe this is a Regional Mutual aid talk group for northeast Okla. I am not sure how it leaps from the state DPS system to Norman's system but it seems when that talk group is active it gets transmitted all over the place on all of the state sites and then into Norman's system. Maybe more knowlegable people can add to the topic.

Ken, thanks for the help. From the lat/lon data available in the database, I see that the transmitter for the State System's Norman site is apparently on the same tower as one of Norman TRS' transmitters. This is conjecture on my part, but it stands to reason that there could a patch device on site, or at Norman's dispatch that links the two systems togther. Like you, I'm sure others more familiar with the systems can shed some light.

Yes Dustin both systems share the same space at the top of the a building on the OU campus the antennas are at about 185 to 190 feet above ground.. the rack mounted equipment could be side by side.
