Need advise as to what to buy?

I have the bc235 and it works well for me.I'd like to be able to listen to
OPP. Should I enter the digital age and get something like the 250D or keep what I have and get something that picks up OPP. I'm in the Oak,
Burlington area. Thanks.

It entirely depends on a budget and how much you want to listen to the OPP.

I have a 296D, the upgrade on the 250. If you have the $, invest in a digital scanner. If not you can get any one of the scanners that do analog only, I.E. a Pro 92-95 from Radio Shack or a bc 245 from Uniden. If you are close to the action you can get OPP on 410.8625 in analog.

Most of the action on the Provincial system these days is OPP in our area. There are some MTO and, north of T.O. Ambulance comms for York Region/Barrie.

I used to commute thru the QEW with my radios daily and w/o a good antenna it is hard to capture towers in Oakville and on the 401 thru the west of Milton (i.e. Guelph Line, North Flamborough). Keep that in mind when you buy.

You might want to get a Radio Shack Pro 96. I have scanners from both R/S and Uniden.
