Came across an old BC760XLT. Want to see if it works but there is no adapter. Anyone have a used AD-580U adapter for cheap or any other ideas how I can fire it up? Thanks.

If you figure out the output specs on that charger, or the input specs on the scanner, you maybe able to get away with a universal charger like this https://www.amazon.com/PowerLine-90382-Multi-Use-Adapter-USB/dp/B016IMPAN0 I have this powering my br330t for 8 years now.

Its funny, I googled AD-580U and the 2 that I looked at online both have the output voltage specs blurred and unreadable.

Thanks Dave. I've noticed that also, the blurred output info on every one I looked at (5 or 6). Has to be deliberate. Wonder why? On the upside I found an adapter for an old Westell Verizon router I had that works. The AD-580U outputs 13.8 VDC, 700 mA. The Westell adapter has a similar output. And the radio works!

A guy I questioned on ebay responded "Dear customer,
This item's output is 13.5v,1a. polarity:center+. connector size:5.5/2.5mm.
thanks"

He did not say why it was blurred but I suspect it's so people don't search for a cheaper power supply based on voltage specs rather than model. .

In any event, glad you have it worked out.

I think a lot of sellers use the same pic for every power supply they are selling (5v, 9v, 12v, etc.).
Rather than taking separate pics, they simply use one generic out of focus pic for all their ads.

Most likely true. In this case, the 2 different pics I saw were crystal clear. Intentionally blurred out the specs on one and the other looks like it was scraped off the sticker.

Any power supply with a 12 VDC output, with a minimum of 700 ma, the right size connector and polarity will work.
