Need antenna help

Looking for help with a car scanner antenna. Mainly 800 mhz trunk stuff, some uhf and vhf though.

Would like something small but powerful, (or do I just get a vehicle antenna adaptor?) Open to mag or perm mounting, but no large holes. Go the phantom route or a short/medium length antenna?

$50-$75 range

I use an Antenex 150-450C dual band antenna on a trunk lip mount. It works great on VHF, UHF and even 800 Mhz. Maxrad also makes a comparable antenna.

Which one would be better a 1/8 wave, 800mhz from Laird or a Laird Phantom Antenna, 821-896 MHz

821-896 MHz, 3db Gain, 3" tall? Do they still allow you to recieve uhf and vhf even though it is not designed for it?
