• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Need codeplug for an XPR4380 Model AAM27UMC9LB1AN

Trying to clone a few radios that are codeplug password locked. I did clone 1 with a sample 4380 codeplug, it did erase the password but changed the model number. These radios are going to local moto shop to be programmed for their connect plus system. I'm just trying to clear the password because they add an extra $200 to clear it for you. These will be activated on the dealers system.

Thanks for any help!

It changed the model number? It shouldn't have let you clone if the model number was different. Also it won't let you clone unless the device features are the similar.

Yes, changed to M27UMC9LB1AN The other model number is off the sticker on the radio. There was the warning the features might be different, but the CPS still reports Connect Plus option as purchased. Maybe it's ok, I don't know yet. Just would like to find out before it goes to Moto shop.

That's the same model number. I've often seen where CPS doesn't show the leading Region Code (AA) while it's present on the sticker. That's pretty old CPS so if the other radios were programmed with a newer version, you won't be able to write to them.

Do you have firmware? You should be able to perform a Recovery and wipe out the password that way. Again, you'll need current or newer firmware than what's present in those other radios.

I think you nailed it with the model number... The one radio I did clone reads and writes fine now with no password.
