Hello,
I am looking for a computer programmer who can help me. I am part of a website called www.USEmergAlerts.net

They have dispatchers sending alerts to people's cellphones, emails, etc. They use a program called Zello (the website is Zello. Instant talk.) to allow dispatchers to communicate like the nextel walkie-talkie feature.

Right now the service is available for iOS and for PC. They want a Mac OS version. I told them that I would try find somebody to help them. If there are any further questions people can message me. Thank you so much.

Just letting you know... No one can make a Mac version of the Zello app except the people from Zello themselves. To accomplish what you are asking for would require designing an entire new application for Mac, which is likely to be expensive. I would honestly recommend just using something like Skype.

A simpler workaround would be to install a virtual machine program (VMware Fusion, Parallels, or Virtualbox - free, but test to make sure it works as expected) and simply install and run Windows inside of MacOS, which will allow you to use Zello or any Windows application for that matter. Configured correctly, the performance hit on the host system would be negligible, especially if utilized for one specific application.

You will, however, need a licensed copy of Windows on each system - you could get away with Windows XP home edition which can be had for as little as $70 with a quick search on Google Shopping (less bloat on the OS, the better), but you may be able to find volume licenses at a bigger discount depending on the demand - MS can be generally friendly in this regard for small businesses. Obviously, check the system requirements and make sure it actually runs on XP (zello makes no mention of their PC system requirements) before investing anything.
