I don't know of many hospitals that still use the Med Channels. Most are on TRS, on a rare occasion, you might find one on H.E.A.R. Easiest way is to just call each hospital and ask. Back in the day, Grady was always on Med 1 and Piedmont was on Med 2.

These listings were obtained by using "Geosearch" on FCC ULS License search.
Frequency range 450-464 for Fulton and Dekalb Counties.

Lots of overlap. They pretty much are all licensed for the range of UHF Med freqs.

Hope you find interesting...

Whenever a hospital applied for a MED frequency, they normally are licensed on 462.950-463.175/467.950-468.175, so they just kinda coordinate with the other hospitals who is going to be on what channel. With H.E.A.R., everyone would hear all calls unless they kept their radio's in select mode.

UHF Med channels

Med 1--Grady Health System (aka Grady Memorial Hospital) PL 192.8

Med 2--South Fulton, Scottish Rite, St. Joseph PL 192.8

Med 3--Kennestone, Atlanta Medical Center, Piedmont PL 192.8

Med 4--North Fulton, CWL (aka Emory Midtown) PL 192.8

These channels are not used as much. Many providers call the hospital via cell phone. North Lake Regional went out of business many years ago along with Dunwoody Medical Center. Shallowford and Southwest Community are also out of business along with Physicians & Surgeons Hospital on Bolton Road. FYI. I hope this helps.

Gwinnett Medical Center is on HEAR, MED-7, and Gwinnett's 800. That group is encrypted. They will turn up Med-7 if a unit requests it. They ALWAYS talk to EMS helicopters on the HEAR and will usually turn it up when their dispatch calls for acceptance. In other words, the radios are always on, just volume turned down because the bulk of their traffic is Gwinnett.

Thank you, Catnip. I thought you joined the PD many, many years ago? I worked with you many, many moons ago in Buckhead on 34 or 35. Thanks! Stay safe!
