Well, the 460.55 might well be Petersburg, depending on where you live in relation to Newport News. The 460.100 in Harrisonburg is probably not going to come across, at least on a regular basis.

York County does have a license for 460.1125, which could easily be picked up as 460.100 on many scanners. Don't know what it is used for if anything. Check the list of licenses in York County in the database.

I did not see anything close to 460.550 in the nearby areas.and with Petersburg having that freq, I don't think you will.

P.S. You don't need to YELL. :)

460.1 is used by Old Dominion University for security ops. You might also hear an automated voice occasionally announcing someone has pulled a "panic alarm" somewhere on campus.

As for 460.55, I believe that is an old NNPD freq that may be in use by another city agency. I can't confirm that now because my old notebook has a missing page where the 460 freqs were listed. :( Keep listening; you might be able to figure something out!

After some listening today; my guess on 460.55 Sentara Hospitals, maybe specifically Leigh Memorial Hospital. Just heard a refernence from a maintence worker to security abou doing work at "NDC" (Norfolk Diagnostic Center). This is on Kempsville Rd next to Leigh.

Will keep listening from time to time to try to confirm this.

After some more listening, there seems to be at least 2 users on 460.55...
Heard simultaneous transmissions this afternoon. Looking at the FCC's ULS site, there's only one user in the area:

The transmitter locations refer to ODU.
BAL BLDG= Batten Arts & Letters Building, the tallest on campus.

4701 Powhatan Ave= a dormitory complex on campus.

I've heard what could be ODU traffic from security to units advising not to ticket any cars in lot 10 today. I've also heard maintenance traffic working on an alarm system as well as a call to the "food court" and work in the "hematology department". This is from a hospital or perhaps Eastern Virginia Medical School. My earlier reference to NDC and now this has me scratrching my head. :?

Anyone else have ideas? :?:

I've found my missing notebook page!

The hospital in question on 460.55 is the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
