Ok now I have purchased and programmed in Williamson County and Austin/Travis trunked systems, I have two questions which after hours of reading the 396 manual still confuse me crazy.

1. On the P25 system Austin/Travis, some of the transmissions are very broken, yet I am listening in a very good area, where it is not a distance or squelch issue. The handbook talks about setting the threshold levels and agc control, I have experimented with this but it does'nt seem much better.
2. This one really confuses me, and that is Fleetmaps! Does anyone know the correct fleetmaps for these two systems? If not how do I find out, and how do I program them in the 396.

Sorry for being so naive on this, but its totally confusing

1. Try both improving and degrading your antenna (easiest thing to try is degrading it...just turn on ATTenuation). The problem is either going to be too little signal or too much signal...when I tested down there it was more often too much, which was improved with attenuation.

2. Fleetmaps are not used on the two systems you mention (they are only used on Type I and Type I/II Hybrid systems).
