Need help choosing an antenna

I am wondering what would be a good antenna to pick up mainly the 800mhz band. I do also listen to a little VHF and UHF. So decent reception in those areas is definantly a plus. Right now I am just looking to leave the antenna by a window or something b/c i am getting ready to move and don't want to put up a mast to just have to take it down and put it back up. Any recommendations out there would be appriciated.

Another quick question. Do you think I should do what I said above or buy a cheaper mag mount such as the RS 20-032 or RS 21-994 until I am able to have a spot to mount an antenna. Would this improve my reception over the RS 800 duckie?
