can someone plz help me understand how to program the indiana state police freqs into my scanner (pro 96).... i am specifically interested in the posts in the louisville metro area (clark/floyd/harrison)..... also, the SAFE-T system in the same area ( i know it isn't working yet, just ewanting to learn how to make it work in a pro 96)....

while i am asking stupid questions.... does anyone have all the freqs for the floyd county public safety system (i like to program all of them into the scanner....just in case)?

thanx in advance for the help....

the first place i check for anything scaning is here.... i have the freqs for the proper counties but i don't fully understand the layout... what i splan a, plan b, etc... how do they work.... etc. i understand the concept of the safe-t system and understand it isn't on line in all districts but was wondering how it worked.... do i enter the freqs as fm, for example... just looking for some tips to make assembling a program easier.... when i use it i won't have the time to correct problems with it....

there are only apparently control channels listed for the floyd county pubsafety system... was hoping to have all of them....

Ok, I jump in and help one of my fellow neighbors to the South. Darned Kentuckians! (Just kidding...my father was born and raised in KY; therefore, I'm half Kentuckian.)

Page 33 of the Pro-96 manual explains how to set up for a Motorola trunking system. The mode you enter is not FM, it is the Motorola mode (whether Motorola analog or digital system, you set up the frequencies the same way)...press the [mode] buttom until "MO" appears at the top right of the display.

Then enter the control channel frequency (red text in the RR database) and backup control channel frequency (blue text in the RR database). You do not need to enter all frequencies when trunking a Motorola (analog or digital) system...only the control channel (and you should also enter the backup control channel frequency).

Regarding the Floyd County Public Safety System, that system an LTR trunking system. Your Pro-96 will not trunk LTR systems. You'll have to invest in another scanner like the Uniden BC-246T to be able to trunk LTR systems. The 246T will cost you about $220.00. See this link posted on the front page of the RR site: http://www.scannermaster.com/store/01-500881?mv_pc=t25268665 .

Also, those are all of the frequencies for the Floyd County system. If you do purchase a scanner to trunk LTRs play close attention to small numbers located at the bottom-left of each frequency. These small numbers are the sub-banks in which you enter the frequencies. For example, 860.4875 is entered in sub-bank 02, 859.2375 is entered in sub-bank 06, etc. EDACS systems also work this way. Unlike Motorola trunking systems, all frequencies must be entered and entered in the proper sub-banks for LTR and EDACS trunking systems.

I hope this helps some.

ok... now we're kinda cookin' in gas.... about the isp freqs... i am wondering about the low-vhf.... how does that system work.....if i am programming for flyd/harrison/washing counties in the louisville metro do i just plug those in and every trooper who keys a mic will be audible? that is what has me bamboozled....

i am using a pro 92/2067 for the ltr in floyd county... was just wondering asbout the holes in the freq list.... i monitor two other ltr's near me and have the freqs programmed one followiong the other as they are the only freqs listed.... will this work or do i need to seperate them as indicated in the listing in rr.com?

thanx for the help....

Will the Pro-92 pick up New Albany and Floyd County? Can someone link me to a couple of good websites to assist a newbie with this and with this area's frequencies? Thanks!

ok I know this is late did not see this post until today ISP should be Low Band for Floyd and Clark Cos. As they have not approved funding for those sites as of yet. And of course as the red headed stepchildren of the State of IN we will not see Safe-T for awhile in this area. So since KSP is the only digital except talkgroups in EPD which is provoice  I do not need to invest in a digital scanner as of yet. Go Louisville :D
