need help getting my bct15x hooked up to vista

Hello All,

I am GREEN! i can't figure out how to connect my bct15x to my laptop that runs vista

The HP doesn't have a serial port so I am using a USB converter by keyspan. I loaded the latest driver(i think): Model USA-19HS Keyspan Driver - Windows Vista (64-bit) / 7 Mb - Last Update: Apr/01/09

this POPS UP when I try to send data from ARC-XT PRO:
Serial post is not available or is used by other software

is this a Vista , ARC-XT PRO, scanner, or Keyspan problem?

This is my first scanner(christmas Gift) and I really want to get it up and running- so far I haven't heard much of anything.

Do I need to set the scanner to a "learn" type mode for it to be reconized by the computer?

well RR held my post for 24hrs thinking i was a spam bot or something like that. I was able to get everything up and connected last night. thanks- i am sure i will have another question for you all soon
