need help identifying id and moto II for ct sp

how do i identify what id number and moto number to put on the scanner.
i have a rs pro 95. this is a moto II trunk system.. at the moment im pragraming manually.. would like an example or some kind of explanation on how to identify what id numbers to put in.

I hate to tell you, but you will not be able to listen to CSP with a Pro-95. CSP is an APCO 25 digital system...you would need the Pro 96 scanner to listen.

Should you get the Pro 96, I have all the control channels for the entire system programmed into one bank, as well as all the talkgroups.

thanks for the response. i still want to learn the the numbers mean by moto and id number. i dont understand how by looking at
dec hex ext. you come out with a id number ext. i need someone to try to explain it to me. im preety good at computers and programming, i just dont understand the numbers and what they stand for. i understand they wont work. i just need some info. on telling the diffrence .. thanks a bunch.

Ah, OK...in quick terms, the decimal designation on a Motorola system is the talkgroup. All radios in that talkgroup, when one radio transmits, are moved over to a certain frequency. CSP Troop A is talkgroup 48...when a radio keys up and is assigned to 856.4875, all other radios in Troop A assigned to talkgroup 48 will switch over to 856.4875.

So, if you live in the area of Troop A, you would program talk group 48, which is Troop A Dispatch, and talk group 80, which is their car to car.

Definitely an oversimplified explanation!
