okay...i was able to program a bearcat scanner with alameda county freq.s trunking system. Recently purchased a Pro 97...figured out how to enter freq.s. I got Oakland PD going...SF PD going. But for the life of me, I can not figure out what I am doing wrong with Alameda County. I entered all of the frequencies into the scanner. Scanning in mot mode. Can not follow a conversation. It will stop on a call...show the id number. If i try to hold the call...it just say no id number....and call goes away...waaaaah... anyone with some help would be appreciated...thanks...brian :)

Do you here the data channel on freq. 868.7625, If you do not here the channel that is your problem. Your location would be my next question. I live in the south bay area, but have problems recieving Oakland and Bart pds. I can not get SFPD at all. Alamenda works just fine were I live, So if you live in the north bay you might be out of luck.

DL the MAn from Crapity Shack lol

HHMM that is odd indeed
I own the Pro97 ,BCD396T, and the IC-R3
I pick up most of the Southbay, and all if not most of the Bay Area..
Alemada's TRS though is staticy but I can copy ....

Make sure you antenna is right
you can savr the Id's by pressing the ID, "key"
And then later just manual programming the tags in, OR you can do that before ANY scanniing..
I found it easier to do AFTER as it tedious and Overtly time consuming to
program ID's some of which aren't in use...

Go go to the Crapshack Website
Under support you can DL hte Man for the 97
and most if not al ANY are recent scanner sold by Capshack lol
I don't have my 97 on me it home as I am at the WIFI Cafe'
IF you still need help then I will mbring it with me tommorow or whenever and
step by step giude you.
Warm regards
Crista
