Need Help Locating a Frequency

I have searched but cannot find a listing for a small business in Baton Rouge, LA. It is a Air/Heat repair service and I know they use radios. Do they have frequencies set aside for these type of businesses?

Have you tried asking them yet? Thats the first thing I do and most of the people dont mind a bit.

There are many factors that come into play when trying to find a frequecy.

Firstly, have searched the RR Database? Next, have you searched the FCC's database?

If you do not get any hits on those seaches .. it may be that they are leasing radios from a local radio shop.

Post the name of the company in case someone here knows. And you can try just asking one of the drivers for information ..

Also when trying to locate a business frequency on the FCC Database, keep in mind that it may be licensed under a corporation name rather than a trade name. eg: ABC Corporation or ABC Incorporated trading as Acme Heating & Air Conditioning could be licensed under ABC Corporation or ABC Incorporated rather than Acme Heating and Air Conditioning. Most of the time all we know is the trade name, which sometimes makes it difficult to locate business frequencies on the database.

yeah, I had tried asking them. They didn't even know if they hit repeaters are not, I am sure they do hit them.

Could also be under the name of the business owner.

And to make this really fun, they may be on a SMR TRS. In which case unless you go to the communications department of the comapnay and get the details can have you lost. I am in the same situation in regards to Veteran's Cab in Jackson, MS. They run on an 800 MHz TRS SMR, and thus do not have any info in the FCC as to the specific freq's thus killing any chance to trunk track em and log ID's lol.

Not really.

The SMR will need to be in the FCC db. I did a quick seach looking for YX operaters in Hinds/Rankin counties and got a hit on Southern Company.

A search for YG operators turned up Jackson Communications.

Both of these are in the RRDB.
