Need Help Programming a Trunk System

I recently purchased a Bearcat 996T Digital Scanner. I tried to program a Trunk System into it, however, it doesnt pick anything up. Can anyone walk me through the proper steps to program it.

There are so many variables here I hardly know where to begin. Did you read the Easier to Read manual? With this type of radio, you need to sit down and understand how DMA works before you can effectively program anything - either doing it manually or via software.

Let's start with the Easier to Read manual, the link for that homepage, along with many other things such as our DMA FAQ and software reference, can be found here...(by the way, anything in blue - here and in our wiki - is a link...)

Note that there's both a printed version along with the downloadable version. I'd start by reading the downloadable version, and purchase the printed version.

Once you've gone through the manual, I think you'll have a better understanding of how to program it. It takes some time to get accustomed to this - once you have decided on software (and purchased a USB serial cable) you can go to the NY forum and ask for a compatible file. Many times that helps to turn the light bulb on
