We just recently moved to a new location and I need some help programming the new frequencies. I lost my book and don't know how to download the new frequencies for this area.

Here is a link to an easier to read manual for your Pro-197. Also, if you are not using any software to program, perhaps you should consider it. Programming can be a tedious job without software.

You should also consider a Premium Subscription. Several resources on the RR Web site cannot be accessed without a Premium Subscription including importing systems for your area to your scanner.

Have a new pro-197. I have the Driver disc and interface cable from Radio Shack.(Item 20-047). I also have the PSRedit software for the scanner. My problem...I can't seem to get the interface cable driver to load onto my computer. I have downloaded frequencies from RR using the PSREdit software...but when I go to load the frequencies into the scanner..I get a message saying timeout....obviously a problem linking the computer to the scanner.....any ideas to get me headed in the right direction?? Thanks for your assistance.

From the instructions which came with the GRE PSR-600 (sister to the Pro-197):

"Note: Do not insert the USB cable into the USB port on your computer before installing the USB driver."

This may be the problem.
