Bill where are you? It's very important to supply your location, since it's more likely folks local to you are the best ones to help. County/state will do nicely

To get to this, go to the blue toolbar under the thread title, click on User CP then on the left click on Edit Your Details Go about 2/3 way down the page.

Reading the Uniden manual is generally considered to be a waste of effort. I would begin by reading the Scanning 101 article which is at the very top right of the first page in the wiki (blue toolbar under the Scanner Master ad, float your mouse over Wiki then click on Wiki Home from the pulldown). Pay particular attention to the 'PCs and Software' and 'Equipment Questions' sections (note that, both here and in the wiki, anything blue is a link).

Posting in your state's forum may also help bring results.

Best Regards...Mike

Ok

I see someone has listed some new trunking channels for Portland Maine , I have no idea now what is what. I only want fire and PD not Public works and The School Buses.

As far as the scanner goes I still can't get the PC based system to work here, can I add this type of system Manually???

Read up on the trunking and Connecting the Scanners via USB articles that are linked in the Scanning 101 article I pointed you to earlier. That will get you started thinking and understanding what needs to be done there. Remember all links are blue...

As to programming manually, certainly you can, but it won't be easy. Again in the 101 article, there's a reference to the DMA FAQ, and at the bottom of the FAQ are the links to the Easier to Read manuals. Go download the one for the 346XT

You might also want to go to the Scan New England website. Their wiki on Maine might be more complete than our database...in fact, there are a couple of Maine related resources defined here...
