Need Help UHF Trunking done a search

These are the frequencies they say it is a motorola system but nothing else.

0463.9375
0464.4625
0464.9125

I dont hear anything like a control channel but on every channel it will click on and off like somthing is being tx. Need help with it. Not sure what to do. I can never get trunker to work eather.

Without the control channel, you are lost. Where did you get the information? What system is it? Is it here on RR.com?

Try and find the control channel. Using the frequencies you have, set up a scanner to do a search of the frequencies above and below the ones you have.

The idle keydown you hear is normal on newer Moto systems. It bothered me a lot when I first discovered it but everyone seems to think it is just a way the system ensures that the TX is functioning correctly during idle periods.

Okay, this guy Michael Bush also holds a license (WPVZ433) for additional frequencies in nearby La Fayette (and other counties around there) but it is probable that the control channel is on the other license frequencies. Take a look at that license and try out those frequencies and see if you find a control channel. Then you have to start figuring out the Base frequency. You can guess that the Offset will be 380 (0x17c in hex) as that is the standard, and the spacing is pretty easy since the frequencies being used dictate a spacing of 12.5 KHz.

As for the FCC Emission designator, take a look here for an explanation of the code.

Hello,

A trick I use is to do a location search with a low point radius (like 0.1 km). This will show the licenses at the site. Sometimes the location in the database is alittle off so I do not use the point selection.

The site is located at 42 degrees 39' 58.2" North and76 degrees 8' 33.7" West.
WNMV818 Bush Electronics IG 461.2750, 463.6500, 464.9000
WPPD277 Bush Electronics YG As mentioned earlier
WXV271 Schmidt Trucking IG 461.2750

I find that IG and even YG does not always reflect the frequency usage. I would check the frequencies under WNMV818 for a control channel.

I also find this system interesting
WPMI918 Terry Pfeiffer YG 160.0650, 160.1550, 160.1700, 160.1850
It could be a LTR system but I do not see many VHF trunked systems around in my area. There is a Public Safety EDACS system up in Goffstown, NH on VHF-High.

Thanks for the reply. The only problem I have is that I know that I can not reach all of the towers in the other counties from my location. Since it is motorola I will search them all and see what i can figure out. Thanks for the help.

I checked all of the frequencies and I find nothing that sounds like a control frequency
Maybe since its a business frequency I will hear more come monday.

The FCC database has lat and long info in the license record. Sometimes it is even correct :wink: .

To find your lat and long you can buy a gps receiver or look at a topo map.
TerraServer has some nice Topo maps and aerial photos.
