First off, you will be asked, where do you live, state, county, city, and do you have the programing cable, with the cable and software programing will be much easier.

My mistake.

Columbia, Maryland - Howard County

Programming cable yes - No serial on computer, so I had to buy a serial to USB.

Using bcTool at this time.

You may want to take a look here, looks like you may need a digital scanner to receive this system, or most of it anyway.

If that is what you want to monitor, you'll get what has an (A) analog in the mode column, I don't believe the bct15 does digital, the bcd996t does, some of the talkgroups are also encrypted, no scanner will recieve them. (E) encrypted in mode column.

Yes, Howard county is mostly digital as shown in the database. A BCD996 or BC396 will be needed to listen to them. 73 Mike
