I have successfully programmed the frequencies for the local AWIN towers in Junction City and Huttig, but am unable to hear actual audio. I see a system ID range and see the hex ID of the radio that broadcasts, but I am unable to hear any talkgroups.

Are you using programming software? Does the scanner show ID Search or ID Scan? You should see the control channel frequency on a site when not receiving any talkgroups. If you see NFM, the scanner is having a problem detecting the control channel.

I have the control channel put in correctly I am on the control channel for the Junction City, AR repeater. Which Modulation mode do you suggest to sole this problem?

Do you have the system programmed as a trunked radio system (as opposed to each frequency conventionally in a group)? Simply holding on a control channel alone won't give you any voice traffic unless it switches to a voice channel. The system needs to be programmed as trunked so you can follow talkgroups properly

Ok I have tried putting back the other frequencies with no luck. I also now can not hear my local police department which uses a single DMR channel

Remember that for a trunked system like AWIN, you need to program it as the correct type system, adding the site(s) that you want to receive, and then adding the talkgroups you want to listen to.

I may be wrong but it sounded like at first you were saying you just punched in the control channel frequency for the site closest to you which likely wouldn't yield anything unless it was entered as a system and you were in ID Search mode.

Using software, as suggested already, is certain advised. Much easier.

Can you upload a low res photo of your scanner's screen while it's "connected to the Junction City or Huttig repeater?"

I have a feeling it's programmed as conventional and not P25 trunked as 03msc has stated; but we shall see.

By the way, Huttig is the strongest AWIN site to my location so I monitor it with DSD often. It is very very quiet.

if he actually did program in all the frequencies in and did so conventionally, he would hear them, just not trunk them or see a talkgroup.

This is my current Scanner Config for the AWIN system. Do I need to change the system type?

That shows ID Search mode. Of course, you can change that on the scanner but ID Scan mode is what scans programmed talkgroups.

Do you know what settings I need to correct the problem of not being able to hear the audio signal? Do I have the correct settings set?

I also set the P25 Threshold to 8 as I found a video someone posted on youtube about what settings are best for picking up P25 systems. The guy in the video said to avoid a P25 threshold of 11-13 as these would cause me to lose the signal. He suggested a threshold or 8 or 9.

Have you tried the "auto" setting for P25 threshold? Also does it have a little "DAT" that shows when scanning and it stops on the control channel?

I have and it does show DAT when I tune to a talkgroup. The weird thing is, I did get audio Monday night on the control channel for Junction City and it was a voice signal.
