Hi,

This is what I bought off the internet for my son in XMas 2007.

It came as a KIT. I mounted it on a piece of plywood and placed it in my backyard and hooked it up and auto scanned the channels and GOT ZERO CHANNELS.
Yes I understand that its not mounted and calibrated properly, but I was just testing it out... I should have got something!

I gave up!

Found out recently that its only the GIANT C-Band dishes that can get the preshow clips (like ppl putting on makeup etc)

Also found out recently that you can make a small dish into a C-Band dish with a special kit.

I need an installer to hook my dish up to the chimney or roof and calibrate it and install the kit.
Who does this? I dont wanna get ripped off...

Thanks.

Without aligning the dish to move across the satellite arc it will not pick up anything. Kinda like pointing a very powerful telescope randomly in the sky and not being happy because you don't see Saturn.

The dish you have looks to be about 30" diameter or maybe 1m at the most. Its a Ku only dish and will not work on C-band no matter what kit you buy. I would say you need at least a 6ft dish for C-band and even that's even a compromise.

At least find someone to help align the dish and motor so you can experience some Ku satellite tv. I could do it for you but I'm on the other side of the country.
