hi, i am new to trunking. i am trying to listen to nassau county ny's system.
i have entered :
866.1875 - Trunked System (1)
866.3375 - Trunked System (2)
866.5875 - Trunked System (3)
866.7375 - Trunked System (4)
866.8375 - Trunked System (5)
866.900 - Trunked System (6)
867.1125 - Trunked System (7)
867.175 - Trunked System (8)
867.900 - Trunked System (9)
868.175 - Trunked System (10 - Control)
868.425 - Trunked System (11)
868.575 - Trunked System (12)
868.725 - Trunked System (13)
868.650 - Trunked System (14)

and i believe i understand how to use the trunking feature. the problem is, that the talkgroup conversations dont seem to coincide with the ones listed on this site. for example, a talkgroup designated for the police, sounds more like a taxi service, and so on.

the talkgroups on this site were updated on 2/17/06, is it possible it is out of date?
if so, does anybody know the current information?........any help is appreciated........sparky

What scanner are you using???
Are you using software to program it ???

Also the only police you will hear is village police and NCPD Auxiliary Police

The Nassau EDACS system is horrible. Too many talkgroups for one memory bank, even on a 396T. Mostly you will hear sewer dept, plumbers, bus drivers, golf course maintenance.
Really not too exciting, and filled with background static.
NCPD is still conventional in the 477-478Mhz band. Fire is all over, with many around 46.10-46.12-46.32
Unless you need to hear AUX PD, Port Washington, Lake Success PD's, stay away from the Nassau EDACS.

On my radios, I break down each bank by what it is I want to listen too.
So, say Police will have the EDACS in first, then the regular non-trunked freqs right after - in the same bank.
Yah, the TRS goes in multiple times, but at least it cuts down on the amount of TG's the bank needs to hold.... And I don't need to listen to the entire TRS or lock out more than I want to listen to.

On the Pro 95/95 you need to enter edacs freqs skipping the first channel
I am not sure if this is the same for the Pro 94

So it would look like this

Ch 00 leave blank
Ch 01 866.1875 - Trunked System (1)
Ch 02 866.3375 - Trunked System (2)
Ch 03 866.5875 - Trunked System (3)
Ch 04 866.7375 - Trunked System (4)
Ch 05 866.8375 - Trunked System (5)
Ch 06 866.9000 - Trunked System (6)
Ch 07 867.1125 - Trunked System (7)
Ch 08 867.1750 - Trunked System (8)
Ch 09 867.9000 - Trunked System (9)
Ch 10 868.1750 - Trunked System (10 - Control)
Ch 11 868.4250 - Trunked System (11)
Ch 12 868.5750 - Trunked System (12)
Ch 13 868.7250 - Trunked System (13)
Ch 14 868.6500 - Trunked System (14)
