earlier I heard this on TG 9997: ... "This is Wheeling hospital; go ahead" and then nothing else so she obviously answered someone on the wrong radio

just a couple minutes ago I heard State police 309 attempt to contact OC dispatch on TG 2109... when dispatch did not answer after a couple attempts, he then came over the regular county law TG (2107) and when the 911 dispatcher answered his call, the trooper claimed he "switched channels on him" so obviously 2109 is a car to car or some other ohio county law channel that dispatch can not monitor....

what I dont understand is that when I look at my pr096com logs (all tabs), I see absolutley no record of 2109 anywhere...

other TG's that have popped up since my earlier report...

2117

9125 - WVDNR dist1 (tac)
9134 - WVDNR dist1 (private)
9311 - WVDOH district 6 (northern panhandle)
335 - Monongalia county tac 2
343 - Monongalia county tac 2 ( yes, another tac 2.. DB has same description for both TG's
409
927 - WV OES , multi county interoperability channel

i am going to take a stab at this here but I would be willing to bet that TG 2129 is stone church common
my reasoning for this is because 2127 is stone church fire and I just heard stone church members coordinating an ems response on 2129 sooooo ?

SCRATCH THAT

ok now I am really confused... last friday I heard Stone Church coordinating a response on what they themselves claimed was stone church fire...
I had a notecard in my pocket and I wrote down the TG that was displayed it was with 100% certainty 2127

just now (after i had already posted the first part of this post), I heard stone church units "going to stone church fire" and when they started talking.. this time 2129 shows up so I have no idea how or why this changed... anyone?

Mylan,

In Pro96Com, go to Edit / Decode Configuration / Screen Settings.

Except for Dump / Raw Dump, anywhere you have the option to "make this screen visible" and to "turn on autosave at startup" you probably should. It may give you access to a few more screens you don't usually see, and it will help to ensure that your data gets saved to files often.

If you a cool guy at all, you'd email me your *.txt and *.csv files in the System 170 folder of Pro96Com and let me take a look at em :) You could zip em up first. or send em on MSN.

you know i too have noticed that my radios have been having a rough time decoding transmissions for a couple days now... (which really gets annoying on a pro-96).... i bet that might have something to do with your reception troubles also.

on another note:

Talkgroup 2145 is 100% encryption.

The only all encrypted TG on the old ohio county system was 423, the ohio valley drug task force, i would have to say that 2145 is just that, the drug task force.... another indicator confirming this is that i remember from the old system that they usually had a large volume of radio activity on thursday nights. (tonight is thursday night)

Due to 9997 being a med talkgroup, if I follow the way other admins have added these in the past I would end up adding it to the Regional EMS - Medcom section instead of to Ohio Co. Personally I feel it is better served if listed in Ohio Co. I'm torn on what to do with that one.

2145? Once you can confirm it's the DTF I'll add it! (ok, just joking, knowing you can't confirm it rofl)

Turn on your MSN!

ROFL, yeah plugging the antenna in definitely helps :) I didn't realize you were running Pro96Com. Good deal, glad the suggestion helped. Given how little I can monitor of P25 systems, I try to eek out every bit of info I can.

Mtindor... I will send you anything you want, however you want me to send it... you just need to tell me how to do it... step by step ( i dont understand any of the stuff you said)...

most importantly though this:

yesterday I was running pro96com... while doing this i wanted to update my desktop radio with new talkgroup names so i needed to remove and use the cable that the p96c radio was using ......Rather than just unplug it from the service radio, I hit "stop data decode" and i lost everything.... i DONT want to do that again.... do I have any pauszse options whereas I can resume from where I left off if i need to use the cable again. (which i do lol)

(BTW - i AM trying to login to messenger but its tellin` me it cant at this time - ill keep trying)

Re-read my previous post. It indicated the options you should select ot make sure it saves the information at regular intervals.

Mike why does your state of Ohio System have some of it's TGID's doubled? Look at the counties and ... well lets go with the Mutual Aid, EMA, and Hospital / Ohio Dept. of Health TGID's. They are all almost doubled. Today they are all listed in a Group called Temporary Talkgroups. This has just started happening within the past day or two. Looks like one of your Admin brothers is undermining your thoughts here! What's up? Maybe they should be listed in both TG's. or just do away with the main TG and put everything into the county TG instead.

Mike, I was looking at my logs and I see no hits on 2127 at all.... Because I heard Stone Church Fire coming across on TG 2129 yesterday, I think you should go ahead and make that change in the DB unless we get additional data to disprove that

My admin brothers are undermining my thoughts? I dont' know what makes you say that. First of all, their is a hierarchy. I'm a state admin. Global admin trumps state admin. He doesn't need my approval for anything. With that said, Tom is actively working on changing things around on the MARCS system. That's why for the past 1-2 days you've seen strange things in the MARCS system. The updates he is doing can't all be done in 2 seconds. He definitely knows what he is doing. And, not that it matters, but I'm in total agreement with what Tom is doing. There is nothing shady going on, and he certainly isn't going against my thoughts and wishes. We're all on the same page with regard to the changes in the MARCS db.

A "System 170" folder would exist inside the folder where your Pro96Com is installed. If your Pro96Com is installed in C:\Pro96Com, then you have a folder called C:\Pro96Com\System 170 .

If you have a shortcut that you click on for Pro96Com, right-click on it, select properties, and it will tell you where the main folder is. Then use Windows Explorer to navigate to that folder and you'll find System 170 within it (at least as long as you have your Pro96Com to save all its data and you do a manual save once in a while).

He is referring to Ohio MARCS. And right now some restructuring of talkgroups is going on, which is why there are some duplicates in there. Scott is just having fun busting my youknowwhat's because I indicatted previously that I can't add the Wheeling Hospital talkgroup in multiple places on WVIRP.

I'll change SCVFD to 2129.
