Need help with Pro-96

Just bought a Pro-96 about 2 weeks ago. Has been working fine until last night. Its scanning, just not picking up anything. Wont even pick up any of the weather channels. I can turn the squelch all the way to Min and it will not activate it. Let is scan this morning for about an hour and then I heard some traffic. Worked for about 10 minutes and stopped working again. Any ideas ?

If it's brand new (from RS) just take it back for an exchange - you've got 30 days no questions asked...

Yeah if its not working on weather channels then there might well be something wrong. Like InlandAZ said take it back to RS if its new and get another one.

Bought it brand new off the internet but not at RS. CPU is 1.5
I did a master reset and now I can here the squelch and the weather channels. I'll download my saved Freqs back in tonight and see what happens.

do a total reset! Then check the weather channels before uploading your save. Otherwise complain to the seller.. If it was brand new.. that suggests they are more of a 'store' and would probably exhange? That's poopy sorry to hear that.

OH... here's how to reset...

Initialize The Scanner (TOTAL RESET!!!!!!!)

1. First turn the scanner OFF then back on again.
"Welcome To Digital Trunking" will display

2. Press the 0 button. "System Tests; Select Test; Exits if no Key Press" will display.

3. Press the number 1 button. "Factory Init; Erase Memory; ENTER if Yes; CL to Exit" will display.

4. Press the ENTER button. "Initializing; Clr Main Mem; V-Scan is OK; Please Wait" will display.

Wait until the initialization of the scanner is complete before turning it off. When the scanner has finished initializing, "M000" will display on the top line and "Bank 0 Ch 00" will display on the bottom line.
