• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am trying to scan a Project 25 digital system. I am picking up some Id's and some voice traffic. My question is how do you figure out the "Motorola Band Plan" ?? I need to figure out the steps and offsets. "What would be the base frequency" I was able to find the control frequency and go from there. I am missing parts of the conversations.

What system is it and what type of scanner are you using?

If it is a true P-25 trunked system, you shouldn't need any band plans or base and offset values.

"Where the logleaf pines grow tall in South Alabama" doesn't tell us what you are trying to scan. However, judging from your other post could the system be U.S. Dept. of Defense: Southeastern Region? If so, the TSYS is not Motorola but instead, P25. That being the case, set TSYS to P25 Auto which will automatically populate the tables.

If the system is in fact Motorola, what system are you attempting to program?

I am trying to monitor Fort Rucker. It is in the 138 mhz range and P25 Digital . The scanner is the new BCD996T I tried setting up just the control frequencies and going then in Id Scan. I was able to pickup a handfull of unknown Id's with that set up. I was still unable to pick up the MP's and Crash Crews as well as the Fire Department. I knew they had to be somewhere in the system. So tonight I rechecked all of the controls I had and could not find anything new. So what I have done is set all my digital frequencies up one one bank. I made the bank a convential system then went and made each frequency digital. Then I put it in scan. Then wow. I found the MP's, Crash Crew and Fire Department. This show's that I am 1) missing a control 2) I need a band plan. or 3) The Fire, Crash and MP's are using a single frequency and not trunked. I still think it is trunked because I hear other users on the same frequency. If you look here:
Scanner Frequencies: Shaw Air Force Base Trunking System, Sumter, South Carolina
It shows a band plan for another military system. The band plan is what I think I need. There must be some way to figure out the band plan. It's not like I could walk up to the base and ask for it. I would like to set up my trunked scanner the way it is to be set up.

Run a search for CC in area of 139-142. The Shaw system is still building also. Note the two custom frequency tables, one is listed in Misc System Information and has an offset in the 12th identifier value. I.e. 4096*12=49152. The other listed table doesn't have an Offset value.
