I was reading this USCG operational summary, which is linked from the USCG.mil site ( http://www.piersystem.com/go/page/443/15168/ ):

Operation Summaries for Apr. 3, 2006
D9: FALSE ALARM - CAPSIZED VESSEL- CLEVELAND OH, LAKE ERIESMC: SECTOR BUFFALO
Sector Buffalo received a call reporting a possible capsized vessel, off the Bratenahl Towers, just east of Cleveland. Air Station Detroit launched a rescue helicopter, and a rescue boat was launched from Station Cleveland Harbor and an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast was issued by Sector Buffalo. The rescue helo arrived on scene and determined the reported capsized vessel was actually floating pilings. Case Closed

---------

OK, so this sounds like some good monitoring opportunity from my backyard for future incidents.

So did all of this activity occur on these freqs as listed in the Wiki:

345.0 Operations Primary AM Mode
237.9 Operations Secondary AM Mode
326.15 Air-to-Ground Primary AM Mode
379.05 Air-to-Ground Secondary AM Mode

...or are there VHF freqs involved too, especially for 'Station Cleveland Harbor'? If so, what are they? Do the helos use just the UHF freqs above? What about the information broadcast from 'Sector Buffalo', and all of these dispatches in general?

Would 'Port Operations' or 'USCG only' listed here be what I'm looking for: http://www.radioreference.com/wiki/index.php/Marine

Any help/insight would be appreciated!

Urgent Marine Information Broadcast is on 22A 157.1000 Coast Guard Liaison and Maritime Safety Information Broadcasts. Broadcasts announced on channel 16.
And the Helo us ususlly on 23A 157.1500 U.S. Coast Guard only. I often hear the Helo here for Radio Guard and search instructions, also sometimes 21A. Acording to the report the Helo came from near me. I see it over my Apartment often, it's very loud.
