Need more people to feed online scanners

Hi all

We have feeds in all counties of Ca but the below areas. I am looking for people living in the following areas who would like to grow our free scanning community by streaming feeds in the following areas. Setting up a feed is very fast also.


Orange County trunk System (fire agencies)
L.A. County Fire
Ventura County (Fire agencies)
MERA (Fire agencies)
San Diego RCS (South)
San Bernardino Trunks Systems 2,3,6,7,9,10,11,12
Humboldt County (fire agencies)

How does this work? I downloaded the encoder, ran it, but have no clue how it configures for serial input from my BC796D. Thx.

Its actually pretty easy, once you install encoder, open up the "wizard". You'll need an ordinary audio cable. On side plugs into the scanner, the other into the "line in" port on the souncard. DSL/cable internet required also. If you're running a router or firewall you'll need to bypass that port that you will use to stream the feed. all in all. setup is about 15 min. If you need help lemme know. more than willing to help as I am really looking for an L.A. feed.

I can probably help you with Orange County. I have a few scanners laying around still that can be used for OC. I'll see if I can get something up and running soon.

Ben, maybe once I figure out how much running 3 radios is going to be costing me, plus the computer to send it all, I'll split to two feeds. Can maybe do Scanner 31 during the day/evening then switch to my banks 1/2/3/4 between 0030 and about 0800 when I wake up. This is all running off a laptop which is drawing FAR less juice than my 3.2Ghz desktop that I basically can't afford to run anymore. Still, I don't know what the laptop is costing me yet. -Rod-

Most San Bernardino Trunking areas

I've also had requests for a dedicated fire feed for

City of San Diego
Imperial Couty RCS

What is online scanning? Am I able to listen to live scanners being piped over the Internet? If so, VERY COOL!

Also, I am a total IT nerd/geek who is just starting in scanning...
