Need New Antenna

I need a newer antenna for my patrol car. This new scanner is not picking up the distant stations like my old scanner. I bought the current antennae on e-bay so I guess I got what I paid for.

What I need is a trunk lip mount (not magnetic, cause the trunk lid is aluminum) antenna. I know someone out there knows where to go to buy one. I don't want a cheap radio shack one either. I am willing to pay some bucks for a good one. I like listening to lo-band and trunked, so it needs to be able to pick up those.

It's hard to find a good antenna that will pick up lo-band really well, and also trunked really well. 2 different types of antennas are used for those ranges. I could point you towards some good antennas, but, they are band specific. That's the only way I've found to get really good performance.

Google:Austin spectra..a very good antenna, quite pricey but it will get you what you need...................

I use antenex for my ham and scanner purposes. Never had a problem with their product. They are band specific but have some good general ones. http://www.antenex.com

Thanks for the info. Looked around and settled with the WalTel antenna. Not a bad price I might say for what I got.
