I just got my BC396t, and want to program a digital system in. I have set the system as Motorola P25, put in frequencies, then the DEC talk group ids. I am lost from there b/c it doesn't work. I am new to this and the manual sucks. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What system are you attempting to program?

programming bc396t scanner

The only thing I can see that you did wrong is the same mistake I made in the begenning.
Just program it with the HEX code. That will cure the problem.

I am getting somewhere actually....It is the Northwest Central Dispatch System in Illinois.
It worked with the DEC format for the TGID. I am now wondering if I can mix in one conventional frequency into the system b.c. the pd i want to listen to also has a car to car radio which is on a single freq, but their dispatch is trunked.

The conventional frequency must be in a Conventional (separate) system.
