Need recommendation for Tulsa area scanner, +FS?

Well, I'm in the market for a scanner. I was wondering if people would be so kind as to post here what they think would be a good scanner for use in the Tulsa metro area. I will be keeping this at home so a base/mobile type scanner is what I'm looking for. I don't really listen to Tulsa's trunked system, but I would like to listen to Bixby. I'd like to listen to EMSA too but I guess that's not possible yet. Mainly I listen to folks on the VHF high band.

Does anyone have a scanner that comes to mind that they think would be a good unit for the above criteria? Lastly, if you have one for sale I may be interested as well.

The Pro-95 works well for the Tulsa area for right now, until more Tulsa units go digital. It will not do digital, but hardly any units are digital yet. The primary EMSA dispatch channel is digital encrypted, so nothing will receive it unless you're authorized to have a handheld programmed by the city for that purpose. No commercial scanners will receive encrypted traffic. As units do progress over to digital, it will initially be the special investigation and crime units, fire investigators, etc. So, digital isn't going to be a big necessity for listening to general traffic from TPD/TFD/TCSO for awhile yet. As agencies are replacing equipment, the city has been recommending getting digital ready equipment for quite awhile now. The last time I replaced our equipment, it was all digital ready. I'm just starting the process to replace all our stuff with encryption capable equipment (we're working on something I'll fill you in on later).

If you want to receive digital, you could go with the Pro-96 or one of the Uniden models, but they cost alot more and still won't do the encryption. Since I know you well enough to know what you probably want to listen to, you won't need digital for awhile yet. The Pro-95 or the 246T would work for you for awhile.

Both will let you hear the BA/Bixby/Glenpool EDACS as they are now, and I don't look for them to change much anytime soon.
