Need some advice on how to turn on and off Banks on a BCD-996xt?

Have a bcd 996xt scanner, and i can program it ok, infact i have it programed for 23 banks now, but, im at a loss to figure out how to turn on the banks I programed and turn off ? can any one tell me how to do that, I no im over looking it, for some reason, please e mail me, thanks and god bless, Bill nbohioham@yahoo.com

It's very important with DMA scanners to use the right terms - there are no 'banks'. It's either systems, sites or groups - and each can be turned on/off with different keystrokes, or using location based scanning with a GPS.

I just picked up an excellent used BCD396XT and spent hours going thru the Easy to Read manual. It is better than the original, but finding info is not painless. To answer your question: To turn sites on and off, use the numbers and for two digit entries, push the key with the white dot and no before entering the numbers. To change group settings, press the function button on the top left side and then the number of the group (0-9).

The thing to remember is that the scanner must in SCAN mode when changing System Quick Keys or Group Quick Keys. If the scanner is in HOLD mode, the keys have different functions.

You will need to assign a quick key number to each system. That way you can easily turn them on and off by pressing that number while scanning.
