Need some assistance on an old Bearcat . . . .

I have an old BC 600XLT (looks just like a BC760XLT). I would like to know how to clear all memory locations - at one time. There are still some channels set to the default 000.000, but the radio won't let you program in 000.000. It was back to Uniden in the past and came back zeroed out so there must be a way. Some combination of pressed buttons on power up ? Any one ?

Going back to the days of the 210xlt w/ 18 programmable channels...whew that was hip in its day!

Some of those older units required a battery to hold memory. If yours happens to require a battery for memory backup, unplugging that battery should do the trick.

Of course if you do not have volatile memory requiring a battery, then I am of no help to you.......

It's not as old as a 210; it's got 1983 on one of the boards.
But yep, it has two AA's for memory, but I've taken them out and the programming is still there. But you're right it should get amnesia. I think I'll take them out for a prolonged period of time and see what happens.

Guess I could just sit down and program 30.00 and L/O in each of the 100 channels. Last resort! :?

If you're unlucky you might have to wait days or maybe weeks. The sequence is to hold down keys 2,9, and Manual with power off, then turn power on. This is for the PRO-2026 which is very similar to the BC760. If that doesn't work, try 2,9, and some other key. This is a common Uniden trick. Some combo's got to work.

Thanks, Dave! 2, 9 and MANUAL worked! The batteries had been out over 18 hours and it was still programmed, but the key combo did it.
