Oh Great Scanner Listeners Of The Old Line State,
I need some help. In my very own database, which I have built over the years, I have some information on some frequencies that I'm not sure of. If anyone can give me some information on any of these frequencies, for the Balto/Wash Metropolitan Area, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re 467.975 - in EMRC region V (Baltimore metro area), this is Call 2 (Med 10). It's the mobile side of 462.975, and yes, you could possibly hear other private ambos here. It's not all that active, though, as many regions have moved to trunked systems; but once in a while, you'll hear calls here...

124.525 is an ARTCC frequency listed as Boston Center, Low/Discrete. I hear traffic on it right now as I type this, but can't verify one way or the other yet...

And I'm gonna run a short Shoutcast test for a while this evening...feel free to try and hook up....works best with RealPlayer or Winamp...will be scanning more than 300 civilian and military frequencies.

(Basically trying to determine how many connections it can support...the bandwidth math doesn't always work out perfectly.)

Around these parts, looks like 123.075 is only used at Montgomery County Air Park.
123.175 and 123.4 were/are air show or test pilot frequencies, I thought...some old lists show them as NASA-assigned, too.

Do you have to be a member of ?? to listen to Shoutcast?
I tried it with no luck.

You don't have to be a member, but some decoders (such as Windoze Media Player), can't play Shoutcast streams. Winamp and RealPlayer are two mainstream players that work reliably, I'm told.

I just checked the log, if that was you trying to use Pathfinder Download, that's why it didn't work. PD looks for whole .mp3 files, and doesn't know how to handle a .pls extension (streamed data).

BUMMER, I'm not that computer smart, but it is probably my media players fault. Thanks anyway.

Thanks guys for the info so far. Spleen, sorry I didnt catch the shoutcast last night.

I'm not sure how old some of these unknown frequencies are, they have been highlighted yellow for the longest time. I just got tired of looking at them and figured I would throw them out to folks to see if you have any input on them.

Thanks,
Mike :D
