Hello from Fred (W1POP) from Connecticut. My wife and I are staying at the BeachComber Resort , 6200 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach.
I have a R/S Pro-96, trying to hear ONLY St. Pete Beach Local Sheriff, PD,and FD dispatch. Yea, some EMS dispatch is ok....but dispatch ems only. I have plugged in all of the frequencies for Pinellas County ( control freqs and all others), along with T/Gs I felt appropriate from Radioreference.com. I seem to hear all of St. Pete city... but NOTHING from St. Pete Beach. I do have the St. Pete Beach PD T/gs plugged in my T/G list. at 8:15 local time tonite (Sunday 1/31/2010), I heard several sirens, units responding to a local situation, nothing heard from my Pro-96..yet loud sirens outside our hotel. Have no idea what I may have programmed incorrectly. I also realize that some control frequencies may not be used by St. Pete Beach....
Long story short....which control channels , or other frequencies should I program into my Pro-96, and which T/Gs should I plug in to recieve ONLY St. Pete Beach FD, PD and sheriffs...
A .p96 file greatly appreciated... !
Thank you from a frustrated retired guy from CT <grin>,

Don't worry about programming any voice channels. Make sure you use the following freqs for control channels:
859.2375
860.2375
859.7125
860.7125

Some TGs use both Pinellas sites, some use one or the other. Typically, Ridgecrest (most of Pinellas) uses the .2375 freqs, usually 860.2375. Toytown (St.Petersburg area) uses the .7125 freqs, usually 860.7125. In your St.Pete Beach bank, program 860.2375 and 860.7125. Lockout 860.2375 and see if the 860.7125 cc will yield SPBPD. If not, unlock 860.2375 and lockout 860.7125.

SPBPD TGs are:
SPBPD-A 18880
SPBPD-B 18912
SPBPD-C 18944
SPBPD-D 18976
SPBPD-E 19008

Let us know if you're successful or not.

Just heard SPBPD on the Toytown (860.7125) site.

Also keep in mind that if they operate in a similar fashion to the SO, non-emergency calls will not be voiced over the radio and will be dispatched via MDT. Hence, you might be waiting quite some time before you hear anything out of them (being that they are not a large agency). My wife and I stayed out on Treasure Island about a year ago and I was beginning to think that TIPD didn't exist anymore. Finally heard something after several hours of monitoring.
