I've heard of Simplex before but what is it? I'm guessing that Simplex means that it isn't trunked.

Yes simplex is non-trunked and non-repeatered.

I have not heard Dispatch 2 used, it might be an assigned but not active talk group.

By any chance do you have the frequency for Ops 12?

Is Ops 14 Simplex also?

Do all of the trunked channels use the primary control channel? If so, wouldn't Fireground 3 be using 868.5250 since that is the primary control channel for Douglas County?

No not even close that's not how the States DTRS system works. If so, wouldn't Fireground 3 be using 868.5250 since that is the primary control channel for Douglas County?

868.250 T010A Franktown, 868.5875 T0102 Riley Peak, 868.8375 T0140 Greenwood Village, 868.875 T0107 Smoky Hill, 868.9375 T0104 West Creek, 868.2375 T0101 Littleton are all active control channels for Douglas County.

If Ops 12 has uses the same frequency as Ops 4 and Ops 14 uses the same frequency as Ops 6, then why is there even such thing as Ops 12 and 14?

Sorry might get too confusing for email, these analog simplex frequencies listed are not even part of the DTRS system.

What specific questions might you have about the DTRS?

I don't mean to badger you or anything, but what's confusing about explaining why two ops channels have different names, but use the same frequency. To me that is complete non-sense. Doesn't each ops channel have a different number for a reason (to designate a different channel) or am I missing something?

They are generally not based by the county and many counties have numerous control channels that cover the area. But a good start is the RR database on this site but it needs some updating and would sure be nice if the system id's could be added in the list.
