Hi John; Interesting discussion.

Maybe you can post a message to the board for me.
I'm now doing a bi-monthly antenna column for PopCom.

My first column was on 350 MHz Yagi's for the AirForce bands.

The issue in the mail about now, is a family of 460 MHz Yagi's forscanners, FRS, etc.

Next on the word processor is the 155 MHz Yagi's followed by some 850MHz antennas.

Planned topics

Using TV preamps/splitters/band splitters on scanner frequenices.
A Very cheap multiband ground plane.
Overload filters for scanners and SWL.
SWL antennas and the use of TV band splitters, switches etc on SWL.

What I am interestind in is other possble spot frequencies of interest.
The California CAP asked me to do a family of 121.5 and 243 MHz antennas
for them last year.   How much interested would there be in these bands?

Any other hot frequencies?

I do hope you've pointed him to our Wiki - there's a great deal of information on some of those topics, such as 'overload filters' (huh???) SWL Antennas, 'hot' frequencies (what in the heck does that mean?? Perhaps he should be looking at the Utility wiki) a dual band ground plane (which makes it somewhat more broadbanded than a single design) and several others.

How bout some UHF Satcom antennas that cover roughly 245 to 275MHz RHCP? Or maybe a combo 118-136 and 225-400MHz ground plane? Maybe Kent can design and manufacture a PC board log periodic similar to his existing models but covering 144-1000MHz or maybe 150-1000MHz to shrink the size a little. He could probably get a large group purchase from this and other scanner boards.
