SDRTrunk Needing a second SDR device to listen to frequency?

Hey all,
I am in the middle of documenting a unknown MPT1327 frequency that is in my area. I got lucky with my mapping range and got some activity overnight. However I assume I couldn't listen to it as it was roughly about 2mhz out of the locked scanning range. Would getting another RTL-SDR or similar SDR adapter fix this or is it a software issue?

I would also like to note that I'm on a forked beta branch of SDR-Trunk that has a built in dark mode so I can swap back to the original if need be. And I live in the basement in the middle of nowhere and cant get my antenna outside..., so that's why my gain is so high.

RTL-SDR V4 is end of life.

I'm going with Airspy Mini now - 6 MHZ bandwidth - like getting 3 RTLs - for $100

Ah ok, I know that the Hydra has a larger sampling bandwidth so would it be better to get that or go with the smaller Airspy Mini?

It seems like the Airspy has more support from the programs I use.
Also - I'd rather have multiple devices so I can listen to multiple bands that aren't contiguous.

Using more bandwidth can sometimes be a strain on under powered pc’s.

I run 10 conventional air band freqs in SDRTrunk at times and it bogs down that pc. My downstairs pc comfortably runs 4 trunked systems in 2 different bands with 2 Airspy mini without issue.

We'll my scanner pc has an i9 in it so I hope is shouldn't bog down at all lol. But there are only 3 trunked systems I can listen to here on top of that unknown mpt frequency.

I just looked at the Airspy mini and I like what I'm seeing. It's basically a better rtl-sdr from what I'm seeing so it'll be great for something like my mobile scanner. But wouldn't it be better to get the Airspy R2 for my base station as that one can have a 10MHz panoramic spectrum? I'm just trying to future proof my system so I don't have to keep buying more sdr adapters later on (even tho I know I will at some point).

I have multiple minis so I can listen to non contiguous bands. I need more than 10mHz spread to get everything I want.
Pretty good bang for the buck.
