hey guys need some advice, i live in san diego ca, and travel the 5 &15fwy corridor,i'm in the mrkt. for a scanner that would monitor our public servants.....plus more, any advice will be greatly appreciated.

if you dont need digital i cant see having anything but a uniden bct-15X

IF you need digital .. bcd-996xt

and i HIGHLY recommend using freescan to program it you can import using ez-grab or right from these web pages

San Diego City trunking system is all analog (other than some encrypted channels), while almost all law enforcement on the County RCS is digital P25.

CHP is still low band analog, though they also have (digital) groups on the County RCS, currently only the east county CHP uses them.

so you can spend about 200 for non digital scanning, and about 450 for digi. encrypted cant be scanned
