I have noticed that nelson county has changed over to a digital system but I don't know which system. I would guess nextedge does anyone know what system they're using and is it encrypted?

Unfortunately your guess is correct for law enforcement. According to the RR database they are using Nexedge (NXDN). Other public safety (fire and EMS) are conventional/analog.

There are no scanners on today's market that will decode Nexedge.

The database does not say if it is encrypted or not. Does any one know if it is encrypted?

I just got a RTL-SDR and DSD+ setup sorta working in that I can almost make out some of the chatter on some of the KSP frequencies. I can't really get a full conversation yet except to hear some of the "10-7"'s and unit numbers and maybe half of a plate read out. I can fine tune and figure out KSP later.

When I tune to 154.190 it seems like it tries but the the audio does not decode to any kind of speech. If Nelson/Bardstown Dispatch is encrypted that would explain the results, but maybe I just don't have the settings right since I am new to using DSD and DSD+.

Does anyone know if Bardstown/Nelson Co. Dispatch is encrypted?
